Commissioned by the BE-IN 7 festival, this work evokes the new creatures we live with. These may be monsters, divinities, or a mixture of the two. Whether friend or foe, we may think of them as modern versions of a Greek daimones. Every new throw of dice brings new creatures that continually reframe our reality as mortals.

If time can be perceived as multi-dimensional and relative, the image of time is always absolute and singular. It is always 02:33:54 somewhere in the world—a point in time and space. Here, the simage stands for the emerging present. A clock image can be seen as an oxymoron and yet a clock always displays the idea of passing time. It is always set on a moment, hence together clock images can be seen as exploded time.
*A neologism that stands for the accumulation of many similar images, or typologies.
