The ISOLUX manifesto. The first item around, Otto Neurath and Gerd Arntz were working towards
the development of a universal (and therefore static, except for adding and dropping of individual
icons) visual language. In the decades since then, any number of proprietary and open-source
efforts at re-standardization have served and fallen short and evolved, from the Vienna Convention
on Road Signs and Signals to Google Material. Any one icon may seem static in the short term, but
the need to re-imagine them is what lasts.
