MIRACLE, 1996 by Miltos Manetas is the work that started it all!
The inspiration for numerous technology-based artists, first shown at the exhibition “Joint Ventures” curated by Nicolas Bourriaud at Basilico Gallery in New York, 1996, “Miracle” launched Machinima (according to machinima’s scholars Matteo Bittanti & Mathias Jansson).
A light aircraft (FA18 Hornet for Mac) falls onto the sea, but instead of crashing, starts running over the water’s surface like Jesus on his famous miracle.
