AirXY, detail is part of a large series of “screenscapes” created by Erik Adigard for a large immersive multimedia installationAirXY, from immaterial to rematerial conceived with Chris Salter is and commissioned by the Venice Architecture Biennale2008. Starting with the realm of screen interfaces and digital data as subject, the screenscapes and floor projections engage visitors passing through the massive Corderie dell’Arsenale. Today we consciously inhabit the screens, sharing them with avatars and metaphors of ourselves the physical world outside of screens. Everything becomes symbolic on the surface of screens, as if machine, human and nature finally became our new reality
