AirXY, detail is part of a large series of “screenscapes” created by Erik Adigard for a large immersive multimedia installationAirXY, from immaterial to rematerial conceived with Chris Salter is and commissioned by the Venice Architecture Biennale2008. Starting with the realm of screen interfaces and digital data as subject, the screenscapes and floor projections engage visitors passing through the massive Corderie dell’Arsenale. Today we consciously inhabit the screens, sharing them with avatars and metaphors of ourselves the physical world outside of screens. Everything becomes symbolic on the surface of screens, as if machine, human and nature finally became our new reality

Adoriction Clock
Adoriction Clock is one of four installment for Dorito Project which was commissioned for the St Etienne Biennale. It is an exploration focusing on the culture of consumer addiction. What think of as “the Dorito Principle” is pervasive far beyond the realm of fast food and it is now a central factor in the culture of digital addictions. While this phenomenon may promote economic growth it promotes many forms of pollution, and it is symptomatic of our intoxicating relationship with dysfunctional realities and pervasive health problems.

Conceived for Postmasters Gallery Can You Digit exhibition, Funnel is a countdown to Y2K at a time when the AIDS pandemic still took many lives every passing second. It is composed of a series of scenes, each exploring an aspect of the unfolding pandemic, seen as a symbol for various societal breakdowns: Contamination, Diversion, Multiplication and Communion. Together they mix toxic agents, like AZT, corporate greed, and the pervasive spread of misinformation through mass media, with the inherent fear we tend to live with.

untitled14 comes form Dorf’s 2012 body of work titled //_PATH. Throughout the series Dorf explores the proliferation of digital technology and the internet noting that the idea of logging off is no longer an option— rather than pushing against and rejecting the, at the time, newly realized networked culture, the images in //_PATH ask the viewer to consider a harmony between the Digital and non Digital, and to see the two as being cut from the same fabric. This animated version of untitled14 was circulated on the web at the time of the series first exhibition.

Mishima died doing Seppuku and one of his friends, following the japanese ritual, beheaded the poet.
In this work the head is seen as floating in air while the blood spurs incessantley from his neck.
This video is part of a large cycle of works i’m intending to work on for the next few years as companion of the one I’m completing about the figure of the Italian Poet Pier Paolo Pasolini which shared many things in common with Mishima.
